Pacific Standard

Concept

From the Gold Rush to the global crossroads.

History

San Francisco was built at the meeting place of cultures — the Gold Rush brought the world to its hills, and the grand hotels of Union Square anchored a city that has always looked outward. The Pacific Rim trade routes that shaped this place linger in our food, our streets, and our sense of welcome.

Cuisine

Pacific Standard cooks coastal California cuisine drawn through the lens of the Pacific Rim. We cook with West Coast seafood, market produce, and techniques from Chinese, Japanese, Southeast Asian, and coastal American kitchens. Dishes are familiar yet elevated, honoring craft, restraint, and balance.

Where past and present meet at the table.

Place

Union Square is in the middle of a deliberate, coordinated revival — a partnership between the city, neighborhood operators, and the businesses returning to the streets. Pacific Standard is built to sit in that current: a confident, useful restaurant for the people who live, work, visit, and stay here.

Philosophy

We believe a restaurant should be measured by what guests carry home — the meal, yes, but also the feeling that a competent and caring team was on their side. We favor consistency over spectacle. We aim to be reliable, generous, and worth a return.
